JOB DESCRIPTION

CIC energiGUNE is looking for an engineer to work on Cells and batteries characterization in the electrochemical laboratory.

The main functions are:

  • Optimized organization of electrochemistry laboratory channels. Management of resources (channels) according to the needs of the projects, avoiding bottlenecks.
  • Monitor the use of channels, improving efficiency and attending to special high-priority requests.
  • Ensure benchmark and best practices in the laboratory.
  • Ensure the conditions of use and operation of the elements, instruments and equipment necessary to carry out activities in the laboratory.
  • Organize laboratory maintenance and manage needs (connectors, cables, potentiostats, climatic chambers).
  • Manage purchases and tenders together with the Administration department.
  • Installation of new acquisitions in coordination with the Maintenance team.
  • Driving and promoting improvements in automation of the electrochemistry laboratory.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements. Suggest and implement improvements (i.e. thermocouples, temperature management, etc).
  • To support the development and implementation of new electrochemical methodologies, according to the needs that arise.
  • To implement techniques for extraction, processing and analysis of large volumes of data.

Requirements

Specific requirements:

  • Degree in electronics engineering, chemical engineering or related disciplines
  • Electrochemistry knowledge like galvanostatic and potentiostatic techniques.
  • At least 5 years of direct electrochemistry laboratory experience

Highly desirable skills:

  • Specific knowledge:
    • Agile techniques for project management.
    • Instrumentation automation tools (Labview, others), data science, data mining, etc.
    • Knowledge and training capacity in quality, acceptance testing, safety, battery maintenance.
    • Battery storage, safety chambers, ATEX installations, waste management (cells, pouch, batteries, etc.), etc.
  • Proactive, with high capacity of commitment and team work, spirit of cooperation and personal improvement.
  • Resolute, with a high level of autonomy and goal orientation.
  • Good analytical, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.

Desirable but not mandatory skills:

  • Knowledge of battery abuse testing.
