Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

CIC energiGUNE is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the synthesis of nanomaterials for the development of high-energy and high-power metal-ion capacitors.

Job functions:

  • Design and synthesis of faradaic nanomaterials for electrochemical energy storage.
  • Synthesis of metal alloys and hybrid nanomaterials to be used either as anode or cathode.
  • Complete physicochemical characterization of materials.
  • Develop scalable synthesis routes for the promising materials.
  • Electrode preparation, coin cell and monolayer pouch cell fabrication, and electrochemical testing of nanomaterials.
  • Process and analyze the results obtained from the characterization tests, give conclusions, and provide ideas to improve nanomaterials performance.
  • Participate in communication with companies and proposals preparation when required.

Requirements

  • PhD in chemistry, materials science or related fields.
  • Experience on material synthesis and physicochemical characterization (XRD, XPS, ss-NMR…)
  • Experience in coin cell assembly and electrochemical methods.
  • A team player who can collaborate with colleagues in other groups, technical centers, and industries.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
