Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

CIC energiGUNE is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in the development of new electrolytes for advanced Li-ion batteries.

Job functions:

Formulation of electrodes and electrolytes combining different solvents, salts and additives.
Electrodes and electrolytes processing by different dry and wet mixing methods such as extrusion, high-shear mixing...
Characterization of the different components of the cell using techniques as rheology, mechanical tests and other physicochemical characterizations.
Cell assembly of coin and pouch cells.
Basic electrochemical evaluation of the formulated electrolytes in Li-ion coin cells.

Area: Electrochemical energy storage (EES)

Research group: Cell prototyping

Requirements

Degree or occupational training in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related fields.
Experience and knowledge in the following will be required:
- Experience in polymer processing.
- Formulation of electrodes and electrolytes.
Highly valued:
- Characterization techniques as rheology and mechanical tests.
- Electrochemical characterization techniques
Ability to identify and solve technical problems.
Proficiency for quickly learning new skills or field of study.
Good verbal skills in English.
Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently.
A good team player who can collaborate with other team members.
