Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

CIC energiGUNE is recruiting an experienced researcher to work on different challenging and novel projects focused on the development of functional materials for energy applications. The main focuses will be hydrogen production/storage through gas-solid reactions, and the functionalization of metal oxides through a novel technology developed at CIC energiGUNE.

Main job functions:

  • In-depth synthesis and characterization of tailored reactive materials and composites
  • Evaluation of materials performances in terms of efficiency, reversibility and cyclability
  • Implementation of a strategy for materials optimization (e.g., tuning microstructures, adding dopants, catalysts, etc.)
  • Fundamental understanding and evaluation of the key parameters affecting the efficiency of the process.
  • Identifying pathways for scaling-up material’s synthesis for testing in designed laboratory scale reactors.

AreaThermal energy storage

Group: Solid state chemical reactions

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • We are offering a 3-year contract and advantageous professional development opportunities with the possibility of renewal based upon satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funds, and ongoing operational needs.
  • Flexible working hours promoting work-life balance and self organization.
  • On-site work model with the option to telework.
