POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Cell Prototyping group at CIC energiGUNE is searching for a laboratory technician to engage in the research and development of new generation Li ion batteries.

Functions:

  • Perform both routine experiments, such as those having greater complexity.
    • Inks formulation
    • Preparation of slurries and rheological characterizations
    • Laminates
    • Cell assembly
    • Cleaning the machinery and the tools of leftover material. Usually composed by chemical components and organic solvents, in a safety mode.
    • Handle the waste materials according to the established safety and environmental protocols.
    • Electrochemical characterizations
  • Participate actively in projects and support the group activity.
  • Support preparing reports or technical documentation.
  • Search and select new accessories according to the needs and possibilities.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of the equipment, including the performance or supervision of preventive and corrective maintenance, internal calibrations, etc.
  • Modification proposals both for the installations and the process equipment according to the technical documentation and at the level of the technician.
  • Internal training activities related to their knowledge.
  • Incident reporting
  • Support students’ activities.

Requirements

  • Higher vocational education or degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials science, Engineering or other scientific disciplines in a related field.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • A good team player who can collaborate with other groups, academic and industrial partners.
  • Systemic problem-solving skills.
  • Hability to communicate effectively in English in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • It will be positively valuated background in these fields:
    • dispersion and inks formulation.
    • Printability tests and analysis
    • printing technologies such as coating, screen printing etc.
    • Characterization of inks and / or coatings (rheology, peeling test, etc)
